State of NSW

It was disappointing to read today that NSW Opposition leader Barry O’Farrell is putting playing politics ahead of the welfare of NSW. NSW is already in such a crap situation, with not enough revenue, and O’Farrell is causing chaos by disregarding Liberal prinicples of privatising everything just so he can refuse to pass Govt legislation. He’s only doing this to try and force an early election cos he figures he’ll be a shoe-in winner. Meanwhile, thanks for nothing, O’Farrell.

Paul McGeogh’s piece on Aboriginal hardship in Mititjulu is great, especially half-way through the continued section on page 6. “Wogorigine” – a bloke who’s half Italian and half Aboriginal.

Glen Milne – yeah, I wish the Rudd Govt would take control of national health care. They’re trying to break this election promise.

Annabel Crabb on Insiders: she pointed out a story where – half-way down – it was mentioned that Fitzgibbon and Latham had had a bet on who could bed a Coalition staffer first. Outrageous.

Sun-Herald – great story about a retired judge teaching NSW communities about sentencing and that judges really are tough on crime. Public perceptions are otherwise. Which means criminals, in their deliberations on whether to commit a crime, should know the consequences will be tough. At the moment, crims are shocked when they don’t get off lightly.

Godwin Grech, who concocted the fake email? I’d love to know. Dunno if even he knows.  Did he just want 15 minutes of fame, while self-imploding? I’m sure the Feds  will get to the bottom of this. The results seem to be taking longer than Michael Jackson’s toxicology tests.

Why do toxicology tests take so long? They don’t have to grow bacteria or a virus – so what’s the delay for?
